The dancer, now dating his Strictly Come Dancing partner Kara Tointon, met Giselle Peacock in Blackpool in 2003 and they married a year later. However, according to The Sun Peacock believes that Chigvintsev only got married so that he could get a green card to stay in America.
She claims that the Russian dumped her as soon as he won a place on a television dance show in 2005.
"It was like it instantly went to his head," she said. "He disappeared out of my life."
Yesterday Tointon revealed that the dancer is remaining in the UK to spend Christmas with her.
