'Strictly Come Dancing' Louis Smith: 'I find it hard to trust women'

Strictly Come Dancing and London 2012 star Louis Smith has said that he finds it hard to trust women after a "very painful" break-up with his only girlfriend.

The Olympic gymnast said that he is "hesitant" about getting into a relationship, as he is still hurt from having his faith "abused" by the ex he split with in April 2011.



"I've had one girlfriend, one break-up, and that was very painful indeed," he told Heat. "I think that's probably why I'm so hesitant to get into another relationship.

"I'm not saying all women are the same, and I don't want to go into what my ex did, but you want to trust someone and when you put your everything into a relationship, your trust gets abused. It's hard."

Smith previously admitted to having a crush on his Strictly co-star Kimberley Walsh.

"I am single and free to talk to, text and meet other women - like Kimberley, who is beautiful," he said.

Strictly Come Dancing returns tomorrow (October 5) at 9pm on BBC One.
