George Sampson has said that he doesn't want to spend time in his hometown Warrington because it is "a ghost town".

The 16-year-old Britain's Got Talent winner criticised the Cheshire town, arguing that there is "nothing to do" there.

"I'm getting complaints at the moment about not getting back to my roots. I've not been back to Warrington in months," he told The Sun.

"Why would I want to go there? It's boring, there's nothing to do. It's like a ghost town. All people do there is hang around outside shops."

Meanwhile, Sampson also spoke about his upcoming film role alongside fellow Britain's Got Talent winners Diversity.

The solo dancer will play a character called Eddie in the 3D movie Street Dance, which is scheduled for release next year.

"I like acting. It's a real challenge. I'd like to do it full-time," said Sampson. "I like film and TV more than stage."
