Susan Boyle 'gets £20k necklace from Cowell'

Susan Boyle has reportedly received a £20,000 ($32,000) Cartier necklace as a birthday present from Simon Cowell.

The 'I Dreamed A Dream' singer, who first found fame on Cowell's show Britain's Got Talent, is said to have been "overwhelmed" by the music mogul's glittering gift at her 50th birthday party on Friday.

The People claims that Boyle grew teary while unwrapping Cowell's present at the bash in her native Scotland, which was attended by over 150 well-wishers including fellow Britain's Got Talent stars Stavros Flatley.

Cowell, however, was unable to make the event, but insiders stated that Boyle was too touched by the thoughtful gesture to dwell on his absence.

A source said: "Susan couldn't believe how kind Simon was, she has never ­received a present as expensive as that in her life. She was really shocked but so grateful."

A friend of Boyle's added: "Susan didn't stop smiling all evening, she had a wonderful time."

Cowell recently admitted that he has become less judgmental since meeting Boyle.

The 'Wild Horses' star was reported to have invited both Cowell and former Britain's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan to a housewarming party in January.
