Simon Cowell was pelted with eggs by violinist Natalie Holt during finalists Richard and Adam's performance.
Singer Murs - who is partly signed to Cowell's Syco Records - joked that he would happily dive in front of his boss to save him from an egg.
He told MTV News: "I was in Spain doing a gig and heard about this egg thing on Britain's Got Talent. I will text Simon later and just see how he is about it and if he's ok."
He added: "I would have taken an egg for Simon for sure. I would have taken a bullet."
The 'Dear Darlin'' singer also gave advice to his Xtra Factor replacement Matt Richardson.
He said: "It's a massive job for an unknown. I was lucky as I came from The X Factor and people knew who I was.
"I think for Matt, he's fresh, he's new and he can do anything he wants really. He can just be himself. It's going to be completely different to me and Caroline [Flack] - the chemistry we had and the flirtiness, but he seems like a really cool dude and I wish him all the best."
Murs added: "Caroline will look after him but I definitely need to speak to him and give him a few pointers on what Caroline is like."
Simon Cowell recently praised Olly Murs for his ability to stay grounded following his success in music and TV.
