The Big Brother's Bit on the Side host praised his former X Factor boss for not getting "enraged" when Natalie Holt attacked him during opera singers Richard and Adam's performance on Saturday (June 8).
"I think Simon handed it really, really well," he told us. "I think most other people would have got enraged and stormed off.
"I think he was dignified and made sure he brought it back to the show. It was about Richard and Adam at that point, and he couldn't make it about himself."
Clark also hit out at the Britain's Got Talent security team for failing to prevent Holt's bombardment.
"That shouldn't have happened. There's so much security at that studio," he said.
"That's the X Factor studio, so I know what goes in to it and how she managed to smuggle a box of eggs down her top I'll never know. But good luck to her."
Asked what he'd do if someone was to throw eggs at him during his Bit on the Side debut tomorrow (June 13), Clark replied: "Do you know what, I'd probably piss myself laughing."
Clark also revealed that he "might be working with [Cowell] in the future", teasing: "Simon's well aware of what I'm doing."
Clark was speaking to DS at the unveiling of his new naked PETA advert.
He also spoke to us there about Tulisa Contostavlos's drug fixing scandal, arguing that she is being "set up" by the press like Britney Spears.
