Redknapp surprised by Thomas Cook flak

Louise Redknapp has admitted that she is surprised by the response to her TV ad campaign for Thomas Cook.

The So You Think You Can Dance judge is rumoured to have been paid £500,000 with her football star husband Jamie for the commercials, which showcase the duo cavorting on holiday.

"It's an odd thing, but in all my years in showbusiness I've never had so much criticism since doing the ­holiday advert," the ex-popstar told the Daily Mail. "I've never had so much stick over anything I've done."

She added: "But we got to spend four lovely days in Cape Town. That's what I tell people who keep going on about how schmaltzy it is and nobbling me about it."

The Redknapps' campaign is reported to have boosted Thomas Cook's business by 15%.
