Joe Thomas: 'I'm useless with women'

Actor Joe Thomas says that he has the same kind of luck with women as the characters in the TV show in which he appears.

Thomas plays Simon Cooper in the comedy The Inbetweeners, a teenager who spends most of his time pining after family friend Carli D'Amato.

Commenting on his own failings with the opposite sex, he told The Sun: "I use the worst chat-up lines.

"At university, I said to a girl, 'Before I met you all I could think about was history, now all I can think about is you'. I thought that was the sort of thing you had to say."

Thomas added that being famous hasn't increased his success with women.

He said: "I haven't really cashed the TV cheque. I'd worry I couldn't carry it off, being a celebrity."
