'Inbetweeners' Simon Bird: 'I'm likened to Rick Moranis'

Simon Bird has revealed that he is often likened to Hollywood actor Rick Moranis.

The Inbetweeners star admitted that the comparison to Moranis (pictured left) is "quite a depressing thing to hear".

"Usually people say [I look like] Rick Moranis from Honey I Shrunk the Kids," he told Radio Times. "That's quite a depressing thing to hear."

As the end of The Inbetweeners looms, Bird, who plays Will McKenzie, has spoken of the "gentle" and nostalgic" element in the film spinoff.

However, James Buckley, who plays Jay Cartwright, played down the success of the comedy, calling it "just a silly little programme".

The Inbetweeners Movie, which also stars Joe Thomas as Simon Cooper and Blake Harrison as Neil Sutherland, opens in cinemas on August 19.
