Gemma Merna: 'I can be a bit wild'

Hollyoaks actress Gemma Merna has confessed that she is a "bit of a party animal".

The soap star, who plays Carmel Valentine in the Channel 4 show, admitted that her co-stars regularly "paint the town red" and enjoy a party.

"I'm a bit of party animal, but Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes Fisher) is the biggest party girl out of us lot. We all have a good time when we go out. We love a bottle of wine and we do like our Strawberry Bellinis," she told Zoo magazine.

"A few weekends ago, we all went out for Claire Cooper's (Jacqui McQueen) birthday. Let's just say I was very excitable! I can be a bit of a wild one."

Merna also revealed that she has taken some of her "sexy" Hollyoaks outfits home with her for personal use.

"I do love beautiful lingerie. I love dressing up in stockings and suspenders; it makes the outfit," she said. "I like nice, long, sexy nightgowns, but nothing tacky. I've had lots of ridiculous outfits to wear on the Hollyoaks set, but I have been lucky enough to take some sexy bits home with me."
