Ricky Whittle has revealed that he plans to make a permanent move to America.

The former Hollyoaks actor told RTÉ Ten that he had now secured a manager in the US and was planning to return next month.

"I was out there to go and get a manager basically, for January/February before pilot season started," he said. "I ended up walking away with Hilary Swank's manager and he got her two Oscars so he can't be a bad man to have."

He continued: "And I walked away with four scripts, for films, which is fantastic and I'm really looking forward to it. I've got two auditions as well, that I'm recording on camera over here and then sending back over so it really did take off.

Whittle claimed that there is "a lot of buzz about me" across the Atlantic, adding: "I'm looking to move across to the States and, in a nice way, I don't mean it in a nasty way, hopefully not come back."
