Rachel Shenton: 'I don't wear make-up'

Hollyoaks actress Rachel Shenton has revealed that she prefers not to wear much make-up off-screen.

Shenton, who plays glamorous Cheryl Cole-lookalike Mitzeee Minniver in the soap, said that the time her character takes styling herself would be a struggle to replicate in real life.

She told Inside Soap: "I don't really wear make-up that often, and don't tend to do anything with my hair.

"Mitzeee spends hours doing her make-up and I couldn't think of anything worse. At first it was a novelty, but that wears off when you get called in at 6.45 every morning!"

She added that her social life also differs from Mitzeee's, saying: "I don't usually go out on a school night and can be a bit boring at the weekends.

"But Kieron Richardson's (Ste Hay) birthday party was very good. He had scantily clad women with snakes around their necks - and cupcakes. That was a nice do, really extravagant."

Rachel Shenton has previously described herself as "a bit geeky", and said that she likes reading and going to bed early.
