The 41-year-old celebrity chef, who won the Australian version of reality cooking show MasterChef in 2009, recently rejected the opportunity to become an ambassador for weight loss company Jenny Craig.
Goodwin told The Sunday Telegraph: "I don't want to be thin. I don't want to be anything different to who I am. I think people have been really willing to embrace me for who I am."
The mother of three admitted that she "enjoys" some unhealthy food but said that she is "doing some exercise", training with a Central Coast Mariners football player.
"I am less concerned about my weight than about the fact that one in seven people do not have enough food to eat each day," Goodwin admitted. "That is why I wanted to be an ambassador for Oxfam Grow. The idea that the world produces enough food to feed everyone but still one in seven don't have enough food to eat - it's not fair and it's not necessary.
"You can enjoy the stuff they call bad, I don't think anything is truly bad unless you are eating it all the time. I am not afraid of butter because if I am using it to make something myself, I know how much I am using."
Last week, it was revealed that comedienne Magda Szubanski had parted ways with Jenny Craig after a three-year partnership that helped her lose 25kg.
After Goodwin turned down the chance to replace Szubanski as the face of the company, Bridesmaids star Rebel Wilson stepped in and also hopes to lose 25kg during her time as ambassador.
