The singer, who came second in the Australian version of the reality television star last year, said that she is embarking on a fitness regime in order to lose 15kg and get a new image and record deal.
Chatfield told the Herald Sun that she has now got a personal trainer, adding: "I would love to lose 15kg, but the trainer said I shouldn't have a problem losing 20."
Last year, Chatfield claimed that she cannot trust men because her "first love" left her "heartbroken". She said: "I thought nothing would go right for me again. I was devastated for a long time and it took ages for me to be able to put my trust in anyone again. It's made me more of a cautious person."
Former Australian Idol star Ricki-Lee Coulter lost more than 15kg in the past 18 months due to exercise, healthy eating and with the help of her personal trainer and boyfriend Richard Harrison.
She has since said that she loves receiving compliments about her body and added: "I feel amazing all the time now and it's a nice feeling. In life, we all have ups and downs, but it is about being consistent. If you want results in anything, you have to work hard at it over a long period."
