The Australian X Factor judge, who used to be lead singer of Rogue Traders but is now about to release her first solo single in two years, said that she has become stronger since giving birth to daughter Harper 13 months ago.
Bassingthwaighte told The Daily Telegraph: "I am feistier than ever. I want to own who I am and go for it and not be fearful of what anyone will think - because after you have a child, that stuff doesn't matter anymore."

Bassingthwaighte added that she co-wrote latest single 'All We Have' with soon-to-be-husband and former bandmate Cameron McGlinchey.
"Cam and I are so different," she said. "I am so pop and he's so much cooler than me so I think we strike a really good balance. I'll tell him something isn't marketable and he'll tell me it's daggy."
Bassingthwaighte also admitted that the song is special to her because it was overseen by record company boss JD Springbett, who was found dead in his Sydney apartment in July this year.
She said: "The song means so much to me because of his involvement; he was there from the beginning of my career... I get speechless thinking about him."
