Australian actor Guy Pearce has admitted he was lucky in his post-Neighbours career.
Pearce's first acting role was in the Australian soap and the 40-year-old told The Press Association that he didn't know what the key to success after soaps was.
"I don't know what it is, some people just get lucky. Other people are exceptionally talented and it doesn't matter what they do they're just going to succeed at it. Some people are just in the right place at the right time."
Pearce's big break in Hollywood came in 1997's LA Confidential, a part he says he was fortunate to get.
"I really just went there [Hollywood] initially to do publicity on the back of Priscilla (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) but I really made an effort to audition for loads of stuff and got lucky, I got LA Confidential."
