Simon Cowell 'wants his own Obama car'

Simon Cowell has reportedly asked for his own version of President Barack Obama's Cadillac car.

According to The Sun, Max Clifford revealed that the music mogul is a fan of the bomb-proof vehicle, nicknamed The Beast, and wants to add one to his motor collection.

"Simon Cowell phoned me this morning and said he wants the same car as Obama," said the PR guru, following reports that Cowell has upped his security while filming The X Factor in America.

"Simon's love of cars is borderline obsessional," a friend of Cowell said. "He took one look at Obama's Beast and his first thought was, 'I need one'."

However, the 51-year-old may have to wait a while before his request is fulfilled.

"Obviously it is not as simple as walking into a Cadillac showroom and getting one," the insider continued. "A beast would take months, if not years, to complete."

Earlier this week, The Beast experienced trouble when it became stuck on a ramp while leaving the US embassy in Dublin.
