Nicole Scherzinger: 'I can be ruthless, selfish'

Nicole Scherzinger has confessed that her will to succeed in showbiz can make her seem "ruthless" and "selfish".

During an interview on Alan Carr's talkshow Chatty Man, the singer and X Factor USA judge insisted that she had no problems with some of the harsher labels she has been given in the media, as she believes that having thick skin is a must in the entertainment industry.

"If believing in yourself and going after what you want in life and realising your worth is ruthless and selfish, then I'm definitely ruthless and selfish," Scherzinger said.

The 'Right There' artist also spoke out against claims that she was the one responsible for Cheryl Cole's axe from The X Factor USA, saying that she has nothing but good feelings towards Cole and is happy to be part of the show.

Scherzinger said: "I haven't seen Cheryl since I got the job. If I did, I'd give her a big hug. I'm just grateful for my job - everything happened the way it's supposed to and I know she made the decision that's best for her."

The musician recently said that she has taught Simon Cowell "a thing or two" about judging musical talent.

Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton recently confirmed his split from Scherzinger, though he has insisted that the pair will remain friends.
