Speaking about Mark initially trying to keep her off the reality show, she said: "He didn't want me to go on it - it was more about him. He wanted to be the celebrity and me be the stay-at-home wife.
"If I wasn't on it, he wouldn't be where he is now. The whole show was about our relationship - the dramas, the split-ups, the engagement. What would he have been filming? He wants to be the next James Bond. Could he be? No. Maybe an Essex one."
In her new book Secrets Of An Essex Girl, Lauren speaks of her friendship with Jade Goody who thought Mark was 'an arsehole'.
Having fallen pregnant with Mark's baby and going through a termination, Jade - who married Mark's best friend Jack Tweed - told her: "He's been shagging other girls."
Lauren told DS: "I was at their wedding. We'd have girly chats about Mark and she'd say he was no good and to get out of it. She went through the same things..."
Recently appearing on Dancing on Ice, Lauren said she was 'gutted' to be the second celebrity kicked off the show. She explained: "My fans are a small majority of the show - I've got one million Twitter followers, but it wasn't strong enough to keep me in."
Talking about judge Jason Gardiner who likened her to a 'walrus on ice', she said: "Jason's comments were harsh. He always says things out of line and I laughed it off, but if I'd taken things seriously it would have been really upsetting - but you've just got to take him for what he is. He thinks he's the Simon Cowell of DOI."
On another frosty relationship with Mark's ex, TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, who she recently got in a Twitter spat with, she said: "I don't care what she's got to say. She's probably trying to jump on the bandwagon with it. But it's my book and my views, and I'm entitled to them."
Having made friends with Katie Price after meeting in a nightclub, she agrees her own situation is similar to that of Katie and Peter Andre. Lauren said: "She's made out to be the bad one, like me. We've got a lot in common.
"If she has a wedding in the UK, she's asked me to be her bridesmaid and I've said yes. Kieran's lovely. It was all very quick but sometimes things are."
Denying any surgery rumours, she said: "I've not had any lipo and I've never had my lips done. I had permanent lip liner, but no surgery."
And on her weight - which is often commented on - she said: "I'm not underweight and I'm not overweight. I'm a normal girl. I put pics of myself on Twitter to show people what I look like. I get ready and go out, and feel good about myself regardless of what people say about me."
Lauren auditioned to be on The X Factor when she was 18 with girlband Ruby Blue which included ex Mark's sister Jessica. She said of the experience: "I was 18 and we sang Whitney's 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody'. We got down to the last ten in the groups - one before the Judges' Houses."
Asked if she would sing for DS, she replied: "No! I was a lot more confident then. I wouldn't be able to get that far now - the competition is a lot better."
Lauren told us that Jessica Wright split the band up and formed her own group. She said: "I was upset at the time, but she moved on. They went back and auditioned but didn't get through. Jess wanted to try to make it and she did everything to get where she wanted, but what could I do?
"I'd love to be an X Factor judge. It would be the best job ever."
