BB Chanelle: 'I will be a single mum'

Big Brother star Chanelle Hayes has revealed that she has split from boyfriend Matthew Bates.

The 22-year-old confirmed last month that she was expecting her first child with the Middlesbrough defender.

Hayes has since broken up with Bates, claiming that the footballer was not interested in the relationship once she fell pregnant.

"I was so nervous telling him. I thought he might come around to the idea and not freak out, but he is only young," she told Star magazine.

"He went silent, but what can you say? It changes your life forever. We both sat in shock, then we just went to bed. We didn't really talk about it and I went home the next day. That was it.

"I know it sounds strange but we haven't talked really. I thought he needed time to think. I've kept him informed though, and let him know when I'm having scans."

Bates allegedly sent Hayes a text that said: "We are not together anymore."

Speaking about motherhood, she added: "I think I will be a perfect mum! I'm really maternal. It's a side to me people don't know - they just see me at 18 crying in the Diary Room, but that was so long ago."
