Goody to undergo emergency surgery

Jade Goody will today undergo emergency surgery on a blocked kidney, The Sun reports.

The Big Brother star, who has been fighting a cancer battle, was forced to pull out of a pantomime production of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs due to her latest health setback.

A friend of Goody said: "It needed to be done straight away. Doctors will see how she feels afterwards before deciding if she can leave hospital."

The source added that chemotherapy treatment has left Goody more susceptible to infection, saying: "Every op becomes more serious than it would be for a healthy person. Jade is being brave and trying to remain upbeat but it’s a worrying time."

The 27-year-old will be operated on at London's Royal Marsden Hospital.
