Coolio arrested for drugs possession

Coolio has been arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of possessing narcotics, police have confirmed.

The 45-year-old rapper, real name Artis Levon Ivey Jr, was taken into custody this morning, according to Reuters.

A Los Angeles Police spokeswoman said that an arrest had taken place but would not give any further details.

TMZ claims that the 'Gangsta's Paradise' star was about to board a flight to Tulsa for a gig when he was stopped at a security screening and found to be in possession of crack cocaine.

Coolio came third in this year's Celebrity Big Brother but insisted that he was still "a winner" despite finishing behind Terry Christian and eventual victor Ulrika Jonsson.
