Walsh suggested Gately did Celeb BB

Louis Walsh has revealed that he wanted late Boyzone star Stephen Gately to appear on Celebrity Big Brother.

Gately passed away on Saturday while on holiday in Majorca with husband Andrew Cowles. A post-mortem carried out on his body indicated that the singer had suffered a pulmonary oedema, which is a build-up of fluid on the lungs.

Walsh, who managed Gately during the '90s, said that he met with the popstar last week and discussed future projects.

"I wanted him to do Celebrity Big Brother," the X Factor judge told The Mirror. "He said he'd think about it but he didn't want to do it. He wanted to be in the musical Jersey Boys. He told me, 'That's all I want'."

Yesterday, Walsh described the 'Love Me For A Reason' singer as a "one off".
