Celebrity Big Brother's Linda Nolan plays down self-harm reports

By
Celebrity Big Brother star Linda Nolan has played down her own claims that she self-harmed while in the house.

The evicted housemate recently told the Daily Star that she had been driven to self-harming during her time on the Channel 5 reality show, but she has now clarified her story.

"In my depression a couple of years ago when I was at my lowest ebb, I did self-harm and I used to do that by biting my hand - ridiculous I know - but you know when you're that low," she told ITV's Daybreak.

"So what I tend to do now when I get stressed is I rub my hand until the skin gets raw."

She added: "As if I would be still in there... As if they [Big Brother] would let me, as if my family would let me and as if I would want to be in there. So you're safe, you can keep your knives out, I'm fine!"

Talking about receiving abuse online following her stint on the show, she said: "I've come off Twitter. It's absolutely disgraceful and I don't think it [trolling] should be allowed... I said to Coleen, 'It's like giving your home phone number to strangers all around the world'."

On her rivalry with bookmakers' favourite Jim Davidson, she said: "Jim isn't my friend, I'm not his friend... I was with him for three weeks so we clashed but we also had some good times, some laughing times. He chased me around the kitchen once, thank God I ran faster than him!

"Fair play to him because he's played a great game. I wasn't playing a game, I went in there and wanted to be true to myself so when I've come out, I've got no regrets. I'm just a little bit disappointed that they didn't show that I was also having a fabulous time."

When asked if she would return, she added: "I'd go back in in a heartbeat!"

Celebrity Big Brother concludes on Channel 5 tonight (January 29) from 9pm.
