Sheen appeared on Morgan's CNN talkshow earlier this week and publicly called for Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre and CBS President Les Moonves to explain to him why production on the sitcom had been shut down.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror, the Piers Morgan Tonight host stated that Sheen should not be chided for his lifestyle choices.
"Charlie was smart, self-aware, funny and passionate," he said. "I think he believes in his right to lead his life in any way he chooses, and I agree."
Despite his insistence that more celebrities should take note of Sheen's honesty, Morgan admitted that he declined an invitation to socialise with the actor.
"[After the interview] he asked what I was doing later that night and alarm bells rang," the TV personality teased. "I thought the sensible thing was to go home instead of heading out on the town with Charlie."
Yesterday, it was reported that Sheen has attracted more than one million followers on Twitter since joining the social networking website earlier this week.
