Celebrating Downton Abbey's first National Television Awards nomination in the 'Drama' category, host Dermot O'Leary has dressed up as Dame Maggie Smith's much-loved Dowager Countess of Grantham.

Speaking about his transformation, the X Factor star said: "I do like dressing as a woman, though this bustle makes me look like Kim Kardashian!"

Meanwhile, O'Leary - who is also nominated in the 'Entertainment Presenter' category - swapped Downton Abbey for Essex, as he also dressed up as TOWIE's Chloe Sims.

Impersonating the glamour model, the 38-year-old donned a leopard-print dress, high hells and a set of over-sized false, white teeth.

"How can she see through these eyelashes?" O'Leary quipped.

Voting is now open for the National Television Awards, which take place in London on January 25.
