Ex-Holby City actress Laila Rouass has revealed that she wants to adopt a child.

The 40-year-old, who raises 5-year-old daughter Inez as a single mum, said that she is inspired by Angelina Jolie's family life.

"I'd love more kids. I've always wanted to adopt," she told The Sun. "When I was younger I used to volunteer at the Mother Teresa charities in India."

Rouass added: "I'd like to be Angelina but I have to find my Brad Pitt first!"

On her short stint on the BBC hospital drama as registrar Sahira Shah, she said: "It was quite emotional leaving Holby but it was the right time.

"I was working long hours and wanted to spend more time with my daughter."

Rouass, who has also starred in Footballers' Wives and Primeval, announced her departure in October last year.

Her final scenes aired last Tuesday (April 17). Holby City continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
