A selection of stars have attend the unveiling of a plaque in tribute to the late Wendy Richard.

Richard's former EastEnders co-stars Todd Carty, Natalie Cassidy and James Alexandrou were among the guests at the Shepherd's Tavern pub in Mayfair, reports the BBC.

Richard died in February, aged 65, after suffering a long battle with cancer. She found fame playing Mrs Brahms in BBC sitcom Are You Being Served? and matriarch Pauline Fowler in EastEnders.

Are You Being Served? creator David Croft pulled the rope to reveal the plaque.

Cassidy described Richard as a "gem" and "comedy legend", while Dancing On Ice star Carty revealed that she was like a "second mum" to him.

Letitia Dean, Leslie Grantham, John Altman, Frank Thornton and her widower John Burns were also in attendance.
