Outfits owned by the soap star will go on sale at Selfridges in London on January 19 in a special Are You Being Served?-themed event. A section of the store will be revamped to recreate the show's old-fashioned atmosphere, BBC News reports.
Richard played Miss Brahms in the BBC sitcom between 1972 and 1985. She later found further success in her role as Walford's Pauline Fowler.
Money raised from the sale will be donated to The Lady Taverners, which helps children with special needs to take part in sports. Are You Being Served? actor Nicholas Smith, who played Mr Rumbold in the show, is expected to join Albert Square favourites Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler) and June Brown (Dot Branning) to help serve customers.
Richard's widower John Burns commented: "It will be great to see Wendy's belongings at Selfridges in support of such a cause. I decided this would be a great way for Wendy to help The Lady Taverners. Wendy considered Selfridges her corner shop and would have been thrilled with the Are You Being Served? theme."
Richard passed away in February 2009 following a battle with cancer. She was 65.
