EastEnders star Jessie Wallace has reportedly received death threats from an anonymous phone caller in the wake of her decision to cancel her wedding.

The actress called off her big day earlier this week after discovering that fiancé Vince Morse had sent an explicit image of her to his ex-girlfriend. According to The Sun, Wallace's father James has urged her to contact police over the threat, in which she was branded an "evil bitch".

"Jessie has received some extremely menacing calls. She does not know who is behind it, but naturally she and everyone close to her are very concerned," an alleged family friend told the paper.

"There are a lot of people close to Vince who are very protective of him and furious at the way he was jilted. But it was him who misbehaved and there's no excuse for these threats to life. Jessie's dad wants her to go to the police but she doesn't want to escalate things any more."

Wallace is said to have discussed the possibility of reuniting with catering boss Morse after admitting that she still has feelings for him.

"Jessie still loves Vince. But she is going through pain and has told him to back off while she grieves this loss of trust," the insider said. "He's been texting and ringing constantly so she had to get a friend to talk to him. He told Vince [that] Jessie does want to meet and talk and does want to work at saving the relationship. But it's a long road and these are the first steps."

The source added: "A major reason is she believes he was her final chance of another baby. She'd always say she wanted another to complete her family. But she's been so badly burned by the men in her life that she's now terrified it will never happen."
