WWE superstar John Cena has been named as the Make-A-Wish Foundation's most popular celebrity of all-time.

Cena currently leads the organisation's all-time record for celebrity involvement and granted his 300th wish to a Pennsylvania boy who is suffering from a spinal condition this week, reports The AP.

Johnny Littman, aged 7, was able to meet Cena prior to Monday's edition of WWE Raw, and Cena later surprised the boy again with tickets to another WWE show on Good Morning America.

Cena has committed to continuing his work with Make-A-Wish, saying: "I truly give hats off to Make-A-Wish for keeping statistics.

"They had a nice little celebration for me at 200, and I humbly said we should do it at 1,000. We're just getting started."

The pro wrestler has worked with Make-A-Wish since rising to prominence in the WWE nearly a decade ago.

Fellow pro wrestling star Hulk Hogan, NASCAR's Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr are also leading Make-A-Wish contributors.
