The pro wrestling legend later underwent heart surgery and was reported to be in stable condition hours after the operation.
Lawler has now posted a message on his official TOUT page to update fans on his current condition.
"I feel sort of like the Bionic Man. I have more wires coming out of me than AT&T," he joked.
He went on to offer his appreciation for the positive messages he has received from fans, saying: "I want to thank the entire WWE Universe for all your well wishes. Thank you all!"
Lawler is still being cared for in a Montreal hospital. It is not yet known when he will be cleared by doctors to return to his home in Memphis, TN.
The King has wrestled and served as a commentator for the WWE on and off since 1992.
He rose to national prominence in a wrestling feud with comedian Andy Kaufman a decade earlier.
