Corrie actor reveals gardening hobby

Coronation Street star Jimmi Harkishin has expressed a love for gardening after ditching his wild ways.

The actor, who plays Weatherfield womaniser Dev Alahan on the soap, revealed that he is thrilled with his new relaxing lifestyle.

"I've just bought a new place in London and I've really got into gardening," Jimmi told the Daily Star. "I think the older you get, the more you appreciate the beauty of nature around you. I find it all very relaxing, and it's not what people would expect me to be into. But I really am into everything horticultural these days."

Harkishin's private life was the subject of much press attention in 2004 after he was pictured snorting cocaine in a Sunday newspaper. The incident led to him being suspended from the soap while he sought help for his problems.

Despite this, Jimmi has now insisted: "I never thought my wild life was as wild as people thought it was anyway."
