The actor, who plays Tyrone Dobbs on the ITV1 soap, confirmed that he is ready to commit to his former co-star after four years together.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, he revealed: "Lucy and I will get married this year. We're both looking forward to our big day. But we're not ready to be parents yet. We want to enjoy being married for a while."
He added: "Obviously the build-up to Tyrone and Molly's wedding in Corrie has prepared me for the real thing. And Lucy's character in Wild At Heart got married last year, so we've both had a taste of what it's like walking up the aisle."
Hudson played Corrie's Katy Harris for more than two years before quitting the show to pursue new projects in 2005.
