Tina O'Brien has revealed that she is inspired by the success of her former Coronation Street co-star Lucy-Jo Hudson.

The 26-year-old actress confirmed that she was pleased to see Hudson landing a role in the Ken Loach film Looking For Eric, which was released in June this year.

Hudson played killer Katy Harris on the ITV1 soap from 2002 to 2005 before going on to star in Wild At Heart.

O'Brien told Celebs On Sunday: "Lucy-Jo is doing really well. She was telling me all about her experience in Cannes off the back of her film Looking For Eric.

"She said it was so surreal and full-on, but really exciting. I'd love to follow in her footsteps as she's having a ball right now."

The star also confirmed that she is keen to reprise her old friendship with Nikki Sanderson, who recently announced her interest in returning to her role as Corrie's Candice Stowe.

She commented: "Oh, gosh, I haven't seen Nikki in years. We need to catch up, we were so close in Corrie."

O'Brien's own Coronation Street character Sarah Platt was tipped for an explosive Weatherfield comeback last month.
