Kat Kelly: "I'm happy being single"

Coronation Street actress Katherine Kelly has insisted that she is enjoying life as a single woman.

The 29-year-old, better known as hellraiser Becky McDonald on the ITV1 show, said that she will not hurry to find a new man following her split from actor Oliver Williams.

Kelly told New magazine: "I'm happy being single - my friends have started getting married and I've had two weddings this year, but I'm not in a rush."

She continued: "I do want children, but I'm all or nothing, and I know that when kids come along, my life will totally change."

The soap star added that she is feeling fine over the prospect of turning 30 next month.

"I'm looking forward to it. I look at the people I know who are 30 and they are still fun," she explained. "Besides, most people don't believe I'm nearly 30, which is a result!

"When I was 21, my mum gave me a tub of eye cream and said, 'Start using that!' I've also discovered Ashtanga yoga. I take vitamin B, which gives me energy, and I've started having microdermabrasions. But the best way to stay youthful is to keep laughing, surround yourself with good people and have a thirst for life."

Kelly's Weatherfield character recently tied the knot with cab firm owner Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
