O'Brien: 'I don't need wedding stress'
Former Coronation Street actress Tina O'Brien has confirmed that she does not intend to marry her partner Ryan Thomas in the near future.

The 26-year-old, who played unlucky-in-love Sarah Platt on the Weatherfield soap, told Take 5 magazine that she is currently too busy with her 1-year-old daughter Scarlett to consider planning a wedding.

O'Brien commented: "Originally, I would have loved to get married, and before Scarlett it was something we talked about. However, now I feel that having a child is such a massive commitment that I don't feel the need to get married.

"Weddings are lovely, but it's a massive day to organise and it's not the sort of stress I want in my life. I never dreamed about my wedding dress when I was at school - maybe I'm just not a girly girl."

Asked whether a quiet wedding would be a sensible option, she replied: "Maybe that would be something to consider. It's something we need to sit down and talk about one day."

O'Brien fell for co-star Thomas (Jason Grimshaw) on the set of Coronation Street. They have not worked together since 2007, when the actress left her role as Sarah.
