Kym Marsh: 'I didn't call Ryder boring'

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has denied branding ex-husband Jack Ryder "boring".

The actress, who plays Weatherfield's Michelle Connor, insisted that a newspaper misquoted her after she spoke on Piers Morgan's Life Stories about her 2008 marriage breakdown.

Marsh had told Morgan that she and Ryder became incompatible because the former EastEnders actor "didn't like to go out or socialise".

Discussing the reaction to her TV appearance, Marsh told New: "A tabloid put its own spin on something I discussed on Piers Morgan's Life Stories, saying I dumped Jack Ryder because he was boring.

"Firstly, I didn't dump Jack - we both decided our marriage was over. Secondly, I didn't say he was boring - I said we were different."

The soap star also dismissed claims that she was wrong to discuss the fact that her children David and Emily do not see their former stepfather.

She said: "When Piers asked if he sees the children, I said I was upset that he didn't. There was no malice intended, I just wanted to set the record straight because it's been reported they have regular contact and that's upsetting to my kids."
