The actor, best known for playing Les Battersby in the soap, received a suspended jail sentence for the offence last month.
He was also handed 100 hours community service, banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay £1,000 costs.
Outside court the 57-year-old said: "I've let my friends, family and fans down badly. I'm currently addressing my alcohol problem. I've been in rehab for four weeks and I know I can turn my life around. It's my last chance."
An earlier hearing revealed how a drunken Jones had yanked the steering wheel from wife Sandra in a row during a motorway journey. The couple escaped unhurt.
The judge, sentencing him at Mold Crown Court, North Wales, told him: "This might have ended in fatalities."
