Sally Lindsay: 'Pregnancy is a joy'

Former Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay has revealed that she is overjoyed with her pregnancy.

The actress announced earlier this week that she is expecting twins with musician Steve White, her partner of six years.

Speaking about the news on This Morning today, Lindsay commented: "It's just a joy. We're beside ourselves. It was a bit of a shock when we found out, but it's the first time for me so it's lovely really."

The 36-year-old, who played Weatherfield's Shelley Unwin, has been engaged to White since late 2008.

Asked whether she plans to hold their wedding any time soon, Lindsay replied: "Not in this condition! I'm not really into that 1960s shotgun look! I think when I get the weight off. Definitely next year."

The star's twins are due to arrive in late September or early October.
