Corrie star: 'I used to be chavtastic'

Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan has claimed that she used to dress like a chav before she was famous.

The actress, who plays Tina McIntyre in the soap, said she didn't care about her looks and used to happily walk around without make-up.

She told the Daily Star: "Honestly, I was chavtastic! I used to walk around with no make-up on, my hair pulled back and wearing trackie bottoms and a hoodie.

"I didn't really care about what I looked like - it just wasn't an issue."

The soap star also revealed that she wouldn't be attending the forthcoming British Soap Awards with boyfriend and Hollyoaks actor Anthony Quinlan (Gilly Roach).

Speaking about her relationship with Quinlan, she said: "We're just normal, really laid back. We're not going to be the soap version of Posh and Becks. We like to go for a meal or to the pictures or stay in with a takeaway and a DVD.

"It's going to be fun at the soap awards though. Anthony would never take me as his date so I will hang out with the Corrie lot. There's competition, but it's friendly of course!"
