'Grey's' star Pompeo confirms pregnancy

Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is expecting her first child with husband Chris Ivery, reports People.

Pompeo's agent Jennifer Allen confirmed the news, revealing that the couple were "ecstatic".

The pair met at a grocery store in 2003 and were wed four years later at a low-key ceremony in New York's City Hall by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Pompeo, who plays Dr. Meredith Grey in the ABC hit series, sparked rumours of a pregnancy when she was recently snapped shopping for baby items in Los Angeles.
