Jayma Mays: "I was a mathlete"

Jayma Mays has confirmed that she used to enjoy doing maths as a hobby.

The Glee actress told Metro that she even used to compete in the subject.

Mays said: "This is the only piece of trivia known about me. I have no idea how or why this even started but I did do maths competitions when I was younger.

"They didn't call it this but I joke and say I was a 'mathlete'. At least I sound smart."

Regarding her current hobbies, she said: "Geeky stuff. I love crossword puzzles and things like that."

When asked if she is recognised by Glee fans, she replied: "Yeah but it's weird.

"You meet people who know the character [Emma Pillsbury] really well and know she's a germophobe and they'll come up and ask, 'Can I have a picture with you but pretend like you don't want to touch me?' It's great."
