Jones injured "a bone on the outside of [her] right foot" last Friday as she was walking out her front door.
The star, who plays Glee's Coach Beiste, said that the fracture has put a damper on her plans to dress up for next month's Emmy Awards.
Jones has received a nomination in the 'Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series' Emmy category.
"I just fractured a bone in my foot last night, so I'm gonna have to rethink what I'm gonna wear," she told Access Hollywood. "I'm gonna totally do a pantsuit or something. I'm not the dress-wearing [type]. I haven't worn a dress since I had to, and that was, I think, graduation."
Jones went on to admit that she is still surprised to have been nominated alongside her Glee co-star Gwyneth Paltrow and Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey.
"I looked at all who was entered in to be nominated and stuff, and it's like, I can't believe I'm one of them… And the six [actresses] that are in our category [are] crazy! Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristin Chenoweth, Cloris Leachman… and Elizabeth Banks and Tina Fey, who I love to death from Saturday Night Live," the star said.
"So, you know how people say it's just an honour to be nominated? To be in that group - are you kidding me? I just want to have lunch with them and I'm good."
Jones previously revealed that she learned about her Emmy nomination on Twitter.
The Emmy Awards will air September 18 on Fox, while Glee returns to the network on September 20.
