Laurie's family to make US move

Hugh Laurie's family will move to the US in order to be closer to the House star.

Laurie's wife Jo and their three children will move into his Hollywood Hills mansion after spending four years apart from him while he was filming the Fox medical drama.

A source told the Star: "Hugh was determined not to disrupt the children. Then a family conference changed everything. Jo and the kids just couldn't bear to see Hugh looking so miserable every time he leaves after visiting them in London.

"They couldn't carry on dealing with a long-distance relationship. In the end, Jo took control and made the decision to move."

It was recently reported that Laurie has signed a $400,000 (£225,000) per episode House contract, making him one of the highest-paid actors on US TV.
