Laurie: 'Kissing Edelstein was peculiar'

Hugh Laurie has admitted that filming a screen kiss with co-star Lisa Edelstein for a scene in House was "peculiar".

Last night, UK viewers saw Laurie and Edelstein's characters House and Cuddy share a kiss. Speaking at this year's Paley Centre For Media, Laurie said that having cameras present meant that it was not a romantic affair.

"There's a bunch of people around with cameras," Laurie said. "If you were trying to seduce someone you wouldn't set that up as a romantic aid. It's unnatural, it's a strange, peculiar situation and yet the blessing of it is that everyone can acknowledge that."

Edelstein joked of filming the plot development: "If someone was trying to seduce me, yes I would have them set up cameras."

Last week, House producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs apologised to fans over a season five storyline.
