Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev 'inseparable at Comic-Con'

Vampire Diaries co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev were said to be "inseparable" at the San Diego Comic-Con.

The rumoured couple reportedly spent the past weekend together, cuddling and kissing in public at the Maxim, FX and Fox Entertainment Party.

"He was very protective of her, and brought her a couple of cocktails from the bar," a source told Us Weekly. "When she went to the bathroom - and it appeared they were ready to leave - he waited patiently outside the restroom and smiled at her when she exited."

The insider continued: "From there, they stood by the elevator and said goodbye to friends before heading to the Hilton Bayfront where they were seen heading to the hotel bar."

Another source spotted Somerhalder and Dobrev at the Camp Playboy party on Friday night.

"[Dobrev] kept playing with his hat and lifting it off his head to get his attention," said the witness. "She stroked his hair."

The two were visiting San Diego to promote The Vampire Diaries at the convention. They were joined by co-stars Paul Wesley, Candice Accola and Joseph Morgan, as well as showrunners Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson.

Plec revealed earlier this month that Elena (Dobrev) will be celebrating her birthday when The Vampire Diaries returns for its third season.

The Vampire Diaries kicks off its third season on September 15 at 8pm on The CW.
