'Ugly Betty' actress lands Hollywood star

Ugly Betty star Vanessa Williams has been presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 44-year-old actress, who plays hard-nosed magazine executive Wilhelmina Slater on the hit US TV show, was joined by several of her castmates at a ceremony in Hollywood yesterday.
Williams became the first African-American Miss America in 1984 and later launched a successful pop career with hits like 'Dreamin' and 'Save The Best For Last'. She also appeared in films like Eraser, Soul Food and Shaft.
Ugly Betty producer and star Salma Hayek said: "We were so happy to get Vanessa. She is brilliant because she is so nasty on the show, but in reality she is the sweetest person."
