The trainer, who will leave The Biggest Loser after the current season, told Entertainment Tonight that she has been in the process of adopting a baby for nearly a year.
"I'm actually in a place with the adoption process where I'm really working on [understanding that] this is a blessing… [and it's] building my patience and my strength for when I become a mother," Michaels beamed. "It's an amazing process."
The star added: "I'm absolutely terrified because it's like you have this little person and you don't want to mess them up. My friends [tell me], 'You're not going to sleep. They take over your life… You're never going on vacation again'. At the end of the day, it's worth it."
Michaels recently revealed that she's decided to leave The Biggest Loser because she wants to focus on starting a family.
The Biggest Loser airs Tuesdays on NBC.
