The Real Housewives of Atlanta star previously wrote on her Twitter account that she wanted to cry herself to sleep over the news that Jewell had been killed on Friday night.
The 33-year-old has now released an official statement about the incident that involved her "on hiatus" boyfriend, People reports.
"His death comes on the heels of the death of my beloved Uncle Ralph and with both of them gone, my heart is heavy with grief," she said in the statement.
She added: "I had spoken to AJ two hours before I got the call that he was in the hospital. Never in a thousand years did I think it was going to be the last time I heard his voice. He was taken way too soon.
"There are so many things that I should have said to him, wanted to say to him... But now it's too late."
It was reported earlier that Fredrick Richardson had been arrested for the fatal strip club parking lot brawl.
